SMF Sitemap generator
With the addition of a Google Sitemap to your Simple Machines forum you can help Google, and other search engines that support the sitemap XML format, index your site more quickly.
While sitemaps for your human visitors have been suggested as good SEO techniques for years, XML sitemaps have only recently become a standard. The good news for those of you with SMF forums is that with the addition of one package you can have both a human readable sitemap and an XML sitemap.
So head on over to the SMF Modifications site and download the SMF Sitemap package. Installation is straighforward, and if you’re using the default theme it will even add a link to the footer of your pages.
If you would like to see a sample before you install I have added this package to a photography forum that I recently started. Take a look at both the human sitemap and the XML sitemap. What’s really important is that only a handful of the pages were indexed in Google prior to installing this package, and none of the pages indexed were the post pages that I wanted indexed. I’ve noticed in the past few days since installing this package that Google has finally started indexing individual posts.
