How to keep links in your SMF news box from opening new windows
I like the News Box on top of the Simple Machines Forum pages. It’s a great feature, and an easy way to share important information with your users. The only problem I found is that when you use the [url][/url] BBC tags it creates a link that opens to a new window and I was linking to parts of my forum so I didn’t want a new window opened.
Just to see if it worked I wrapped the link text in a standard <a href=””> </a> tag and it worked. The link is still there, it works, and it opens the link in the same window.
